I saw a man with a French mustache for the first time here the other day :)

Sunday.Nov.29

-Really uneventful day. I went to church with the family, and then I finished watching the episodes available of Glee. I also did laundry, and forgot that I had some white clothes in my basket. They are now purple. I am not impressed...
-I also watched Alvin and the Chipmunks with the boys....
*********************
Saturday. Nov.28

-Slept in until 10:30, watched some more Glee, made gingerbread cookies, burnt 2 or 3 layers of skin off of my finger (hurts rediculously horrible :{ ), curled my hair (I bought a curling iron for 15 euros). We went to David and Rachel's for a Thanksgiving Dinner. There were many church people there. It was really good. I ate too much food...
-On the way back, Gillian had been playing a tape for the boys. It turned out that I listened to the same tape when I was little. It is the one with the songs that Mom has me singing on tape. No, you may not ask her to see the tape. It is embarrassing. But, I remembered all of the songs, and it freaked me out and made me happy all at the same time. It made me miss being a little kid where all I had to worry about was Barbies and the Spice Girls....
************************************
Friday.Nov.27

I slept all day. No joke. I was so tired and run down, and feeling so sick. I just SLEPT. Then, I discovered how I can watch Glee from one of Becca's friends (thanks!), and watched it until 3 am, becuase I couldn't sleep. Now, I am addicted.
***************************

Thursday. Nov.26

-Last night was the first night since I've been here that I haven't said goodnight to my mother. I felt awful.
-This day wasn't so great. I wasn't really happy. I went on a cleaning rampage because I needed to use my frustrations somehow. I would have baked a mansion, but there was no flour. Flour is essential to baking.
-I went to school. Talking to Sandrine helps me a lot. She is very supportive and understanding. Then from there I drove to Montpellier (by myself!! :D ), and then took the tramway to downtown. Met up with Laura, then we went to an American Thanksgiving dinner!! It was good, except the orgainzers had ordered 12 cooked turleys, and they picked them up 2 hours before the meal was supposed to start, and they were all UNCOOKED! Therefore, we ate rotissary chickens from a local place instead.
**************************************
Wednesday. Nov.25

-I drove to school. Bought an envelope. Chilled out at Gillian and Fred's for most of the afternoon, then Gillian dropped me off at the bus stop in Restinclaires. Then some lady in the bus pulled up and told me that this was her last stop and that she couldn't take me to Montpellier. This was a huge bummer. I kind of freaked for the next bit, until another bus spontaneously appeared and was going where I needed to be. This made me happier and I was full of relief.
-Ted and Christina's study was good. Christina talked about pregnancy things before it started and all 6 of us girls were belly laughing and got the giggles. I hadn't laughed that hard in a long time... (oh, and apparently it is easier to give birth to a child if you take laxatives beforehand...huh...)
**********************************
Tuesday Nov. 24

-slept in until 9am. showered, and curled my hairs with my straightner. I didn't last long, as my hair has no umph in it.
-It was SO warm today. It was kapris and t-shirt weather. This made me relly happy. Boys played with Play-Doh outside. This was nice because they were not inside and there was no mess to clean up!
-Alvie has been deprived of my attention. I am sorry. I just lost my interest in writing for a week.

Monday, November 23, 2009

Hello.

I am still behind on writings. I may just start to pick out random stuff that is happening, because writing about my entire days have become boring and repetitive for me. Or at least, that's how it seems.

Saturday was a fun day for me. I just went out by myself. Actually, after being up until 2 am, I was really tired, and so at 8am I put my ear plugs in and slept until 11. Then I started making homemade bread to take to Ted and Christina's for lunch on Sunday. While I was at it, I made some of Mom's spice bars. Then I got showered up and ready, and finished my bread. I took the car to the Lunel train station and got the next train to Montpellier. I went there looking for hemp, didn't find any in the craft stores. I just looked around, music playing in my ears, and avoided making eye contact with people. I ended up wandering into a huge bookstore and bought myself a pen and a French Bible. I could have spent hours and hundred's of dollars on books. But, I'm poor. And I was hungry. And I am poor and didn't want to spend money on food. So, I took the train back to Lunel, drove back to Fred and Gillian's and made an omlette.

*************************

Sunday was a good day too. Fred, the boys and I went to church, I sat with Laura and Matt (Laura's boyfriend who was visiting from Ireland. He has such a thick accent, I couldn't hardly understand a word the boy said)... I brought my bread and some of the spice bars with me to Christina and Ted's because after church they had a pot luck for the university students. It was a good time. I sat with the French speakers instead of the foreigners. I did it for my own good. I would have much rathered been more social and sat with the English speakers. But, on the plus side. I know more French people now. Fred and the boys picked me up afterwards. I wrote some notes and talked to Dad on the phone for a bit after I got back. I ate a ham and cheese sandwich for dinner at like 8pm, because we ate a lot of food at lunch time. At Ted and Christina's they started playing the Once soundtrack on their speakers, and I told them that they were now two of my most favorite people. Then, I got a huge craving to watch the movie. I brought it with me from home, but hadn't worked up the courage to watch it. Last night, I got to do that. Well, I actaully fell asleep like 10 minutes before the end of the film. Oh, and in February, The Swell Season is doing a show in Paris. I am going. I don't even care if I have to go alone. It has been added to my list.

*****************

Today has been a time and a half. I didn't wake up to my alarm, and suddenly woke up at 7:30, and flipped out a bit. Thank goodness I had the car so that I could drive the boys to school. We got ready in a hurry and then I dropped them off. I got back, showered, and then did my nails. I hadn't much else to do anways. ummm Oh, and I finished my movie.
I picked the boys up and took them home. I made pan fries and some chicken for lunch. Then, I cleaned the kitchen and dining room while the boys played nicely. This playing nicely lasted about 7 minutes. When it was time for them to have 'quiet time', and just chill out and read some books and maybe try to sleep, I got yelled at, kicked at, told "NO!" several times. I was fed up and didn't feel like dealing with them, and I'm really tired today for some reason. For now, they are being quiet again... (*fingers crossed*).
Gillian's flight gets in at 6:30 tonight and so she and Fred should be back by 7:30...hopefully...

Saturday, November 21, 2009

I am so behind on these posts, I don't even know where to start.

Friday, Nov. 20:

Woke up, showered, (ya-de-da-de-da)...
Went to school at 2. (Drove myself there)
On the way home (meaning Gillian and Fred's house), I stopped at the grocery store and bought lettuce, red pepper, peach syrop(for making italian sodas), candy, feta cheese, etc.. :)
I got back and made myself some curried chicken (there was chicken in the freezer), and a greek salad.
(OH! - I also bought a little tree and decorated it while talking to my family...I listened to Chrismtas music too...)
While I ate, I talked to my family on Skype (or, Skipe, as Grampy pronounces it...Potato, Potato..) that was at like..7pm France time, and I talked on Skype to them until almost midnight. Then I talked to my friends at ABU. Whom I miss so very much. Until 2am. I wish that I didnt' get tired, because I could have very well talked to them late into the morning.

************************************************************************************

Thursday, November, 19th:

Thursday was a shitty day, litterally...I stepped in dog crap, and while trying to clean it, I managed to get it everywhere else. This did not make me happy.
Alex and Ben and I went to the park, and Alex decided he needed to poop. So, we walked to the nearest public washroom, and he decided he no longer needed to go.
We watched Finding Nemo.
Before I fell asleep, I watched The Notebook, and cried..a lot..

************************************************************************************

Wednesday, November, 18th:

I got up and ready for school, and then my teacher called asking if we could reschedule my class for the afternoon instead, becasue her gramdmother's funeral was that morning. I told her that if it was better for her, I could just stay home and she could have time to herself, but she insisted that I come.
I talked to Mom on msn, and Dad on the phone. Then, I listened to 'I'm homesick for my family and friends" playlist while falling asleep.

Darn you, Josh Groban and your beautiful voice....

Tues.Nov.17.09:

This morning I had my alarm set for 8:50, but slept through it and woke up at 9:45 instead. I had to get the boys at 11:30, so I began walking and one of the mom's from school stopped by me and offered to drive me down to the school. She was really nice and told me that she either had or has an Aupair.. I'd like to know which one, because if she has one, I need to meet her.. I need a friend. She was really nice. She said to me that she sees me walking everyday. (She's probably right...)

I heated up some leftovers for lunch for the boys, and I made mysef some more chicken nachos to finish up my guacamole. Then, instead of napping today, the boys and I chilled on the couch and watched Finding Nemo. I almost cried at the end- well, tears were welling up in my eyes...

Now, the boys are making a train track. After they did that, I let them color while I was talking to Mom on the phone. I went back in like 5 minutes later, and Alex had colored all over the wall with BLACK marker. I was more annoyed than mad, because I was the one who had to wash it all off. Gillian thankfully got back at the time it happened, so I didn't have to deal with him anymore.

I spent the remainder of my day in my room. I uhh..downloaded Christmas music and then listened to it...

Supper was really good, as per usual. Gillian had made two different kinds of homemade soup.

************************************************************************************

Mon.Nov.16.09:

This morning, I woke up, got the boys ready for school, got myself dressed to take them, and then Fred said that he'd just drive them, so I got let off the hook. Which was nice. I went to get them when their school was over and made pasta for lunch. I cooked the other piece of chicken that I'd bought Saturday night with some curry and veggies and sauce. It was nice and spicy! Ben tried it and tasted it, and liked it too. Alex just called it 'yucky chicken'.

After lunch, the boys were being annoying and misbehaving. I also think that they were extremely tired from their adventure to Fred's cousin's place for the day Sunday, and so they were sleepy. They are having the longest nap that they've had in a long while.

I applied for ABU today. (FRIENDS, DON'T GET YOUR PANTIES IN A KNOT. I HAVEN'T MADE UP MY MIND FOR SURE YET.) I also went for a walk around the perimeter of Boisseron...It takes about 30 mintues.

I made more guacamole to finish up the chips and salsa for dinner to go with Gillian's yummy chicken dinner. Yah, it was all good. After dinner, I watched The Proposal again. Gillian watched about half of it with me, and she had quite the laugh over it.

They say that good things come in threees.

(You may want to read from the bottom, up, so that you're not confused...)

Sunday, November 15th 2009:

We didn't go to sleep until after 3m. We woke up (well, I woke up at 10) and showered and such. Then Laura got ready and we ate some of Jill's bread from the bread machine. Then we went to Lunel to the Sunday market. It is a really nice market! I bought 3 pashminas for 6 euros! (I got a blue one for Laura becuase I owed her 2 euros for the tramway one time...) One of mine is a burnt orange and caramel color (very nice!), and the other is a silver and gold and cream color (also very nice!). They both have sparkly bits in them too. And cool patterns. Laura's was blue and navy with sparkly bits. I also found a yarn guy at the market, but he didn't have many packages with the same colors. So, I would have had to buy all random colors for my next banket... which I do not want. I need purple or something...

After we finished at the market, I gave Laura a tour of Lunel. I showed her where the good bakeries are and my school and the little yarn shop (which was closed). Then I went to the little produce place beside my school and bought some avocados. ( :D )

On the way back to Boisseron, we stopped in Sommieres so that Laura could see the old little town and the scenery and stuff. We went back to Gillian and Fred's and I made some chicken nachos and guacamole. After we finished eating, I took Laura back to the train station and she went back to her dorm, and I drove back to the house again. I talked to Mom for a bit and watched The Proposal again, and laughed as hard as I had the first time. Fred and Gillian and the boys got back at around 8:30, and Jill and I are going to make my weekly schedule later.

**************************************************************************************

Saturday, November 14th 2009:

(on Friday night, I decided I'd go to Nimes with the University fellowship group, AGAPE.)

This morning I arose shortly after 9am, got ready, ate some breakfast... You know, the usual. Then Gillian drove me to Restinclaires so that I could catch the bus to Montpellier. I got on the bus and only had a 10euro bill, and the driver didn't have change. So, then he dropped me off at some grocery store so that I could get change back. (humph...) I just bought a water bottle, then paid for my tram ticket. I got to Corum, where I was meeting Laura. Whithin minutes of being there, some old drunk man came stumbling my way, of course, and sat down beside me. He smelled horrible, and I was scared for my precious life, so I quietly got up and walked over to the next bench. I could still see him, though. He downed a 1.5L bottle of some alcoholic beverage (I think it was vodka) in about 5 minutes, then got onto the tramway.

Laura arrived after, and we went to a sandwich place and got chicken paninis. They were really good. Then, we walked to the train station and met up with the AGAPE people, bought our tickets and headed to Nimes! A lady there gave us a very detailed tour of the city. We went to see the Roman Arena, the Maison Carree, and the gardens and La Tour. Pretty much the same thing that I did the last time I was there, except I got to enjoy myself a lot more and didin't spend so much time looking at the attractions (since I'd already seen them all), but on other smaller things, and fun things.

I met some great people, there were 3 Americans, and some more French people from church, and two other guys from Nimes, who didn't really talk to anyone. The lady giving the tour invited us all back to her house for snacks, but Laura and I just took the train back to Lunel, where Gillian picked us up, because she was preparing a nice dinner for us. It was a cheese fondue of sorts, and it was really good. (SO MUCH CHEESE!). Gillian also invited Azna ad Michel and little Elise.

Oh, and before dinner, Laura and I went to Sommieres to the Intermarchet and bought some chicken and tortilla chips and salsa and chocolate. Then, we rented The Proposal from iTunes. After dinner, we added pics to the computer and Facebook, and then we watched the movie. Oh it was so good. I laughed my face off (not literally)....

Friday, November 13th 2009:

(oohhh... Friday the 13th....)

Last night was terrible. I fell asleep by 12:15am, but had a series of horrible dreams within the first few moments of my light sleep. When I woke up, it was onlt 12:32am. I really couldn't fall back to sleep. I don't think that I truly fell back to sleep until 4:30. This was not good for me becasue I had to be up at 7:30 in the morning to help with the boys. So, I got them up, ready, fed and then went back to bed until shortly after 10. But right now, my bones feel weak and I feel so disoriented and I can't think straight.

I went to get the boys from school, and Ben was crying because he didn't want to walk. So, I took them to the little park with the train and let them play for a bit. I texted Gillian saying that we were there,so she came on her way back from work. We chatted and the boys played, and then all drove back to the house. I have to do some French homework before I go to class.

I had a nice class today. I got to do lots of work.

When I got back, I had a cup of decaf and some tea crackers to tie me down for supper. Fred brought home pizza, which was really good. Then, Gillian and I went to a worship service in Montpellier. Poor Laura White went to the wrong place and ended up at some Musulman meeting with people smoking everywhere. Gillian and I found her walking back to the tramway, and so we picked her up and took her to the right place. It ended up being really good. It was a well organized event, but it wasn't really advertised well, so there weren't many people there. After we got back to the house, Fred was having a dilema with the kitchen cabinets. One of the doors didn't fit, so he ended up working something out that made it look good.

"And then he kissed my boob" - Christina Burrows

Thursday, November 13 2009:

This morning I slept in until 9:30 (*makes happy face*). Then I had to get the boys from school. When we got back to the house, Gillian was back from visiting Rachel. After the boys went for their nap, Gillian and I had a nice chat about work and stuff. Then, after a bit, I took the car to a road that I drive on to class that I've wanted to photograph since the day I first saw it. I took lots of pictures which are posted on my Facebook profile.

There is my road. It was nicer when there were lots of leaves and when they were all orange and red. There is something fairy-tale(ish) about a long old road canopied with fall leaves. :)

*******************************

When I got back to the house, The boys were awake, so we all went for a walk to the farm down the road to feed the horsies some apples! The horse liked the apple (there was only one, we thought that there'd be more). I took some more pictures.

For supper we had warm goat cheese salad (it has become one of my favorite meals here. I could eat it everyday becasue there is so many different things that you can put in it!), and soup.

After supper, I helped the boys clean up their toys, then I came upstairs to my room.

************************************************************************************

Wednesday November 11 2009:

Rememberance Day

(also, the two month anniversary of me being in France)

Today is a national holiday, therefore Gillian and Fred were both off work. I however, was not. I worked from 8am till 10am, which was kind of ineffective, because the boys were awake at 7:30, and so I got them up and we ate breakfast, and then Gillian and Fred came down. So, i got off early, I suppose. Ohh well, I have the rest of the day off.

So, I showered and got dressed. This afternoon I am going to meet a German lady named Karen. She was a student of Sandrine's. She is living in Lunel, and so she is picking me up, and then we're going to chat about stuff, and have tea. Then I will take the train from Lunel to Montpellier and meet Laura there to go to Ted and Christina's for a study and dinner. It should be a good afternoon/evening. Then Fred or Gillian will come and pick me up at the tram stop after.

*******************************

I made a goals list. Thanks to Dad. I have completed one already, and feel supper good about it.

*******************************

Karen picked me up in Boisseron at the town center. Then we went back to her appartment (flat, as they call it here), and talked and had tea and some candies. It was really nice talking to her. And she had a cool German accent. We talked about everything from work, aupairs, school, the French culture, boys....everything..

Right now I am on the train headed for Montpellier. (from my handwriting, you can tell I was on a train, because it was so messy!)

(P.S: On&On&On by Joel Plaskett can be listened to on the train from point A(Lunel) to point B(Montpellier) EXACTALLY.

**************************

When I got to Montpellier, I went shopping down some street. I found a pair of boots for 15euros at this store run by an Asian woman. I thought it was a pretty good deal tho. Hopefully they'll last me the winter. I also found something for my mommy. (but it's a suprise, so I can't tell you what it is, as she will be reading this.)

Then I got lost down a sketchy street. I just pretended to be on the phone with myself the whole time. Seriously, it works. When I found where I was, I met Laura and we walked to Ted and Christina's. It was nice there. We ate vegetabe soup, quiche, bread and cheese and cookies and chocolate. Then, Ted did the study. I really liked that, because he's American, so he speaks slowly in French, which I can understand. (Bonus!)

(Oh, and FUNNY moment: Joakim leaned down to kiss Christina goodbye (like the French do), and got her boob instead. He didn't act like he knew what he had just done, but after he left, the rest of us had quite the laugh over it! )

After the study, we had a chatting time, and I organized a competition for everyone to guess when Christina will have her baby girl. Who ever wins gets to babysit for free and gets a homemade batch of cookies from me. I thought that that'd be a nice prize. Then, I had no money for a tram ticket, so I just hopped on and pretended that I had a monthly pass, and people looked at me funny, but I didn't get cought, so that's good. no 50eruo fine for me! (Next time I WILL have money one me, tho). Gillian picked me up at Odysseum.

So, overall, my afternoon/evening was nice and eventful!

*******************************************************************************************

Tuesday November 10 2009:

This morning I had off, so I slept in...I guess :P
Then I had to pick the boys up from school. Ben and I had leftover pasta and Alex had a peanut butter sandwich. Ben got to have a nap early because he wasn't behaving, and so that was like his punishment. I had 2-6pm off, which was perfect because I went to class. I got there but couldn't concentrate on my work. Sandrine and I just ended up talking about stuff and she helped me out with some questions that I had. I got back at 6, and then I had the boys from 6-8...
I phoned Dad, and talked to him for a while. I like talking to him on the phone...

*********************

I'll post about my Wednesday once I finish it...

Laaarrrra <3 (P.S: Today embarks the day that I have survived two-months here!)

Sunday November 8:

Church was good this morning.
The Brazillian meal was diffeernt. They had this spicy salsa stuff that I enjoyed.
We got home from church, I watched Friends in my room, and ended up falling asleep for 3 hours. Then I talked to Mom on msn, and then ate supper.
I also talked to Hannah..and Corbin which made me feel good.
***************************************************************************************

Monday November 9:

I didn't fall asleep till 3am, and was wide awake at 6:45. What is wrong with me?

I went to the library in Boisseron after I dropped the boys off at school. It was technically closed, but the lady let me in. I found a book that looked interesting, so I borrowed it, and also ended up looking at an encyclopedia of dogs. (I know, I'm that cool...)
I left the library because it was getting awkward just sitting there. So, I took my book and left and walked around aimlessly trying to find something to do here. Notta. (well, besides walking aimlessly)... I've begun to realise that everything begins to look the same after a while.

I went to the bakery and got this chocolate chip scone/muffin thing and is it ever good. I skipped breakfast this morning, and only had a cup of coffee. Now, I am sitting on the couch with a cup of tea and my scone/muffin, and my Julia Child book. Which, I should have finished reading long ago..

The rest of the afternoon was good. Gillian got home from work at 2:30, but had phone meetings after that, and so the boys and I had to be upstairs so that there was less noise. I ended up turning my bed so that it was lengthwise against the wall, and gathered pillows and made a couch type of thing, and then played Madagaskar 2 for them on my laptop. I even had a ten minute nap!

Gillian made some yummy pasta for supper, then we had to be upstairs again because she had her English tutoring session. The boys and I colored and read stories. Then I put them to bed.

I tidied up my room and then talked to Mom on msn.

C'est la tore du cule du monde...

(p.s: I'm pretty sure that that is the equivelant of our saying, "it's the end of the world as we know it!".. but I was told it was kind of rude to say...oh well, It's a free world)

Wednesday, November 4th.

M&M's cookies:
http://joyofbaking.com/MandMCookies.html

(these are really good, I made them to take to Marie's, except I used Smarties.)

**************************

Marie's was fine. The visit was nice. I got to hold Noah for a while. When we left there we went to the LECLERC down the road, and the boys began to act up. This made Gillian angry, which made me angry and embarrassed. We got home and I spent the remainder of my evening in my room. Cereal for supper.

(Not such a good evening, emotionally for Laura.)

************************************************************************************

Thursday, November 5th:

I took the boys to school today and picked them up, then made lunch (ya-dee-da-dee-da).

Gillian got back from work at 2(ish) so I went to Sommieres in the car to find something for someone. The store was closed, so I went to the shopping center part of town, and bought myself a new nail file and some warmer P.J's. They are pink and have giraffes on them. They were only 12 euros. I also rented "I Love You, Beth Cooper" on iTunes then watched it. It was an alright movie. A few laughs. Then I fell asleep. (zzzzzzzzzzzzz)

(Also, not a good evening emotionally for Laura...)

************************************************************************************

Friday, November 6th:

Today I woke up at 7:20, got the boys ready for school only to find out I didn't have to bring them to school. Oh, well. I showered and tidied my room.
I've got school this afternoon, so I'm ganna do some homework.

I finished some work for my French class, then got the boys from school. Ben cried all the way home, It was really annoying more than anything. He got to spend some time sitting in the bathroom while I made lunch.

It is really sunny and warm out. I've been listening to Sixpence None The Richer all day today. Which makes me kind of happy.

Today I am wearing my new(ish) yellow turtle neck sweater. You can ask my family how often I wear yellow. Ellen would likely laugh at you.

I am drinking sparkling water and orange juice... no grenadine though.

So, I had a dream last night that N'SYNC still existed, but Justin Timberlake quit the band and caused this huge global uproar.
Then, this morning I downloaded a Britney Spears album..one of the old ones. I have had this strange craving for crappy music from the 90's lately. humm...

(This night was better than the last two... I have just been having 'some days' ...I got to talk about it with my teacher today, at least. And I met a girl named Helena....)

( I miss hommeeeee).

************************************************************************************

Saturday, November 7th:

(I had taken my pink ink out of my pen and put black in. At first, while the colors were mixed, it was purple, which was cool...now it's just black...)

Today was good. I woke up at 9:30, and helped with the boys (I guess?) I was scheduled to work from like 10-12 this morning, which didn't make much sence, because well, Gillian and Fred were both home...

So, I showered and got ready, but wasn't feeling very good. We (Gillian and I) waited for Fred to get home from IKEA (with the new kitchen), and then we left for Christina's baby shower. It was a really nice afternoon. We played this fun game where the 'mommy' has to feed the 'baby' apple sauce. But the 'mommy' is blindfolded. I managed to stay quite clean actually. Thanks to the garbage bag that I put over my clothes.

I got home and Fred had started to install the kitchen. I helped out a bit moving things, and then ate, then came upstairs and now I'm ganna watch a movie.

Tomorrow is church, and there is a meal after for supporting the youth group trip to..I can't remember where they're going.. India?

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Oh, the last two days in a nutshell:

Monday, November 2/09:

-Woke at 7:50, and officially started working at 8. The boys never woke up till 9. ( :D)
-Put on a pot of coffee and ended up drinking all of it ( :S )
-Tried watching movies with boys after breakfast, but none of them would work becuase they are so scratched.
-Madagaskar 2 reminds me of Camp.
-Ben played wit Play-Doh, and Alex played with toys quietly in his room (humm)
-I spent most of the afternoon after Gillian got home from work in my room (as per usual), and relaxed and drank tea and ate chocolates.
-I talked to Corbin on Skype. Mom and Nanny and Ellen on msn.
-I can't wait to get my pitures. (they are getting picked up tomorrow)
- Watched Friends as I fell asleep.

************************************************************************************

Tuesday Nov 3/09:

-I looked after the boys all morning. We had fun and watched Toy Story (which reminded me of Camp), then we ate lunch.
-After lunch, the boys played for a bit(Gillian was home from work, so I was off).
-Gillian picked up my photos and so I made a huge photo mural on one of my walls. I love it.
-Gillian had to go to get groceries and then she had meetings until 10pm.
-I had the boys after 3pm, then, so we made a cake (from scratch) and then played a bit more, and colored while that was baking.
-I iced the cake with Nutella frosting, and wanted to eat it all, though, I restrained from that tempation.
-I made chicken parmesan and spaghetti for supper. Not ganna lie, it was pretty good!
-I chatted with Mom and Leah, and Becca and Issac, and Ryan and Michael and Maggie, and Willy and Gaby (wait. not Maggie), and then Dad for a bit too...And Mary. (on Skype, of course).
-Now, I am listening to music, writing in this thing.

Alvie's Tales

vendredi le 30 octobre 2009:

Got up at 7:30 this morning, I went with Jill to work because she works near this huge shopping center. While there, I bought a little knit dress (for winter useage), a wrap sweater (because it was cheap), and a gray winter jacket. It is cute. They are all nice, but when I got home I began to add up all of my receipts for all things that I've bought since I've been here, and I was literally shocked! I am not allowing myself to buy anything else besides winter boots(because I have none), food(if it is absolutely needed), and transportation. NOTHING ELSE! I am putting my foot down because I have to save my pennies!

This afternoon I got the DVD's on the mail from mom, and happily told her that she no longer may worry about being sent to jail by the 'customs police'. Also, Dad, we are sneaky! (heheh)

Gillian got a new slip cover for the couch downstairs. It is a cream color and looks much better than the red. She also went on a cleaning frenzy. I kind of chuckled at that. Ben and Alex are back now. Fred's parents are staying the weekend. For supper Gillian cooked the warm goat cheese salad that I like, and homemade pizza. It was good. Then we had cheese and bread (as if we already hadn't had enough cheese and bread) and then yogurts for desert.

I am now chilling in my room with a tea and my mom on msn.

I am making plans to go to Odysseum with Laura tomorrow, and I am seeing if I can stay the night at her place so I can get to church.

Fred, Gillian and Fred's parents are watching a movie downstairs. I might watch the Little Rascals. .... ... (Thanks, Mum :D )

Alao, Sunday in church I am planning on making a bet with Lez to see who can tame Nelly first. I will win! This might have to involve me letting her share my room with me :S ...

Saturday October 31st, 2009: (OH, HALLOWEEN!)

So, I've decided to change my ink color to pink! (My blue ink ran out, but the pink is really hard to see on the page S: )

So, this morning I slep in pretty late. I think it was like 10:30! So, I went downstairs to get some breakfast, and I actually had quite the appetite. I had a large bowl of cheerios and toast with Nutella and banana on it. I had kinda planned on having a lazy morning. I was ganna pack for Laura's and get all my stuff ready so I wouldn't have to rush. Gillian and Fred and his parents went to the market in Sommieres and left the boys here. I really didn't mind it at first, I'd just put on a movie for them to keep them occupied a bit, but I was supposed to catch the 12:30 bus to Montpellier. I missed the bus because I couldn't shower or get ready while I was watching the boys and they didn't come back on time anywho. Thankfully, Gillian dropped me off in Restinclairea to catch the bus from there. Then I took the tram to meet Laura at her place. We ended up chatting in her dorm room for a long while. Then we took the tram to Odysseum ane shopped around a bit while waiting for Sandra (Laura's irish friend). We wanted to go to this grill at Odysseum because everything on the menu was -50% until 7:30. So we decided to eat there. While waiting for Sandra we (well, we basically ran) to the Giant Casino to get some sweets and chips and drinks for later. We got back to the restaurant just in time, ordered, then Sandra showed up and didn't get her meal for 1/5 price. I really wanted to get the thai chicken but they had run out. I didn't like this very much so (in my horrible French) tried to be angry with the waitor becasue of it. He just said, "sorry, no chicken"... I settled for a beef kabob, even tho I haven't really eaten red meat in a LONG time. I knew that I would feel sick after.... I pretty much ate around the meat and just ate the veggies and the huge plate of fries that came with it.

After dinner, we went over to the theatre to see if anything good was playing. Michale Jackson has and forever will be sold out (plus, none of us wanted to watch it in French), and all other movies didn't start till like 10:30, which was too late for us. Laura and I just went back to her dorm and ate our junk food and watched 'You've Got Mail' .

Oh, I forgot to mention that Laura and I got homemade sorbet at a shop before we went to eat supper. We both got 1/5 raspberry and 1/5 chocolate. Let me tell you, it was the tastiest stuff I've had in a long time!

(P.S: They don't really celeberate Halloween here. Which made both Laura and I sad and down in the dumps. We did spot a few creepy men wearing full face masks while smoking through the mouth hole, and a few little childred dressed up as ghosts and withches, but that was just for show. There wasn't really candy involved.

So, yeah, we set up my airbed and 'went to sleep' meaning we talked for another hour or so .

Sunday, November 1st, 2009 : Pinch Punch First of the Month!

Laura (not me, the other one) has officially been here for 2 months, which means she got here two weeks before me.

Our alarm didn't go off this morning as scheduled, so we were both scrambling to get ready for church on time. Actaully, we were more concerned about having to miss the tram and wait 20 minutes. Church was good. I enjoy the worship and the social bit, but I still have like no clue what is going on durring the sermons. After church, Laura and I went to Subway for lunch. We chatted some more about stuff some more, then headed back to her place so I could pack my things and meet Gillian at the last tram stop.

When I got back home (I have started calling it this, just because I am living here, ok?) I showered and then relaxed and chilled for the rest of the day. Oh, and listening to Norah Jones, and drinking decafinated teas.

Nanny Judy and I named some of my things over msn. For instance, she has named my bed, "Old Fred Bed'. I like that. My journal is named Alvie, which means 'good friend'. My iPod has been re-named Flavie, because I just really liked the name, and my computer has been named Fauve, meaning 'wild and uninhabited' ... I thought that the 'wild' bit sounded correct for it.

Tomorrow, I begin working again. 8am, WHOO!

Thursday October 29th:

This morning I slept in until 10 :) .
I had a slow, lazy morning, and then came to Lunel. The bus driver talked to me about his colleage who 'forgot' me yesterday... HA!
Cafe d'Amelie isn't serving lunch anymore, so I've ordered a Cafe-Frappe-Latte and a Creme Brule. OH MY IT LOOKS TO DYE FOR!
Agghh.. I'm going to go eat now!
*maybe 5 minutes later*
Well, that was yummy :) The lady remembered my order- Cafe-Frappe-Latte. Today, though I ordered just a Cafe-Frappe...she gave me it with the Latte bit...I will have to pay for it now....
Hopefully, I can get a wireless connection.
Yay! ... Nooooo, In order to connect to the free WiFi, you have to know a password. None of the waitresses knew the password.

I decided that I'd take an earler train to Montpellier. By the time that I got the the train station I really had to go to the washroom. In the Lunel train station, there weren't any. I had to wait until I got to Montpellier, found the washroom in the train station, had to pay 50cents (WTFRIGG?) I was not pleased about this, but really had to go. The French really aren't big on public washrooms, because they are considered 'unsanitary'. Well, this one was nice and clean and had marble tile and automatic fixtures. No wonder they made me pay 50cents.

Then I walked to a little shop that sold pizza slices. I got one with four cheeses, ate about half of it and then realized that one of the four types of cheese was blue cheese (blechh). I only bought the slice because I was hungry and had only had a blowl of cheerios and a creme brule. I walked to the center (even though I could have gotten onto the tram at the train station). I took the tram from the center (Comedie) to Odysseum. I shopped around but didnt' buy anything. I realized that H&M is an extremely dangerous store to walk into when one has NO money.

Then I walked to IKEA to meet Fred and Gillian. They were buying their kitchen. IKEA is absolutely huge. I want to build a house and fill it with IKEA. We ate supper in IKEA too... There is a cafeteria in there for all of the hungry shoppers! Gillian says that it's the only restaurant in France that allows free refills on soft drinks.
